Ministerial Day Care/Head Start Association uses HighScope curriculum.
HighScope curriculum is a proven research-based curriculum (Perry Preschool Project) to prepare children to become lifelong learners. The curriculum teaches students how to plan, work and review through adult-child interaction. The curriculum also provides exercise, dramatization and finger play during large group time.
It is an active learning curriculum that teaches children how to make decisions and how to manipulate materials. It also offers language and teacher support.
The curriculum enhances growth in social-emotional, physical and creative areas.
MDCA-Head Start has been using HighScope for many years, and it has proven to prepare Head Start children for kindergarten.
Daily, teachers are observing children’s behavior and creating anecdotal notes that are then entered into Galileo (educational assessment software) so that any academic needs can continually be assessed.
MDCA-Head Start is part of thousands of educators and caregivers worldwide who make a difference in the lives of children, youth and families by using HighScope.
